Help spread the Christmas spirit in Rotorua!

The Heat 99.1 FM is proud to support this kaupapa, and encourage you and your Whanau to consider helping out too (if you can!)

Rotorua we need your help! It has been a tough year for many families in our community and we want to do something special for the children who deserve a bit of magic in their lives.

We (Motion Entertainment) have teamed up with Reesby Buses, Rotorua Police Station, The Salvation Army and The Daily Post this year to do something spectacular.

We have 450 registered children between 0 and 16 that I (by myself) am on a mission to find Xmas presents for. I need your help to make a difference!

On Friday the 22nd of December all of the children will receive a bus ticket for their family from whereever they are in Rotorua to town then to Motion Entertainment and back. The child will also receive one free activity at Motion Entertainment, a sausage sizzle and a present from you.

Our housing situation is phenomenal and it is the children that miss out but this year they don’t have to. We can work together to make a difference.

I am going to be out on the streets visiting businesses this week to get as many presents as I can but I need the community to help me. We will wrap all the presents for you and make sure you receive a star on our community spirit wall as you enter Motion the week leading into Xmas.

Please help me make a difference! You can drop your presents from now until Monday next week to reception at Motion Entertainment Rotorua.

John Te Manihera Chadwick, NZOM remembered through Foundation

Young people in the Rotorua district will benefit from the John Chadwick Rangatahi Fund managed by the Geyser Community Foundation.

Well-known and respected local lawyer John Te Manihera Chadwick, NZOM, died suddenly in Rotorua on May 26.

Two local youth organisations, Te Waiariki Purea Trust and the Rotorua Youth Centre Trust, have joined with the family to establish the fund.

Donations of any size can be made to the John Chadwick Rangatahi Fund by credit card on Geyser’s website www.geysercf.org.nz click Donate Today.

People can also make donations to the fund in cash, by cheque or direct banking by calling Geyser Community Foundation, telephone (07) 349 7496, email annette@geysercf.org.nz.

Geyser will issue official donations receipts for tax purposes to donors.
